Aimed at spring or autumn weather where the cool days demand more than just a short sleeve cycling jersey, but not quite the full shell approach, the Lusso Stealth jacket is made from mid-weight, brushed back Thermal-Speed Pro fabric and sports a full zip, wide elastic waistband and three standard pockets on the rear, plus a zipped side-access pocket for small valuables.
Although aimed at the spring and autumn bookends to the summer, we have found it comfortable even during the summer months - well, a Scottish summer anyway - as long as the temperature doesn't rise above around 12 degrees or so. This is thanks to the open weave of the fabric, allowing any breeze to flow through, cooling and evaporating sweat as it goes.
When the temperature goes up we just put a wicking, open base layer underneath and it all becomes pretty comfortable. At the lower end we have successfully worn it down to around 5 degrees with a more substantial baselayer, but below that generally needs a windproof shell to trap more air and heat - at least at the start of the ride.
The fit is close, yet very comfortable on the bike with perfect sleeve and back length that just worked from day one without any need for tugging or adjustment as rides progress. The pockets are beefy enough not to distort under load, with the small zipped one handy for door keys or a phone.
A very versatile bit of cycling wear, useful for a good three seasons of the year which makes it a valuable addition to your wardrobe.
