Borne out of a desire to be wrapped in your warmest duvet following sea-based adventures on the wild Irish coast, CosiMac have delivered big-style with their second-generation CosiRobe2 changing robe/coat.

Longer, thicker and cosier than v1, the CosiRobe2 is ideal for anyone who spends significant amounts of time outdoors. It's a really versatile bit of kit that will appeal to a range of potential wearers including wild swimmers, rowers, mountain bikers, dog walkers, and the many thousands of sporty spectators who spend their Saturday mornings shivering on the sidelines of muddy football/rugby pitches across the country! And at just £145, the CosiRobe 2 offers cracking quality at an accessible price point too....

Constructed using an extra-long PU-coated shell, the waterproof CosiRobe 2 will keep you protected from the elements and cosy as all heck inside thanks to its thick, luxurious fleece lining.

With a super-wide range of available sizes, there's a CosiRobe 2 for everyone - from 6’5” plus giants to juniors and kids.

The wide fit is designed to cater for a host of layers underneath and the longer-than average length ensures you'll be kept warm and dry when the wind is whipping around your legs.

It also comes with a range of pockets so you won't have to manage without your phone, keys or underwear. Our tester was  particularly impressed by the quality of the two-way zips and tags which have been designed to endure.

Tester Verdict

"The CosiRobe2 is longer than most changing robes I've tried and has a thicker, PU resin-treated, Drytech shell that feels both reassuring and reliable.

And so it proved during an unseasonably cold November snow snap when I was out for 30 minutes in a blizzard and remained warm, dry, and protected from the elements.

The coat even stood up to an unexpected encounter with a vicious hawthorn bush that I partially toppled into, emerging rip-free and unscathed. The same could not be said for my hand sadly!

The CosiRobe2 is incredibly spacious and had I felt the need for a cold dip during the test - full disclosure: I didn’t, it was snowing :) - I would have had no problems drying off and getting changed underneath the coat. The fleece liner is also significantly softer than those I have tested on other, more well-known brands which definitely ramps up its huggable feel.

Rather helpfully, it also comes with a dedicated, easy-to-reach key pocket and other fleece-lined pockets to shove numb hands into. Fave feature? The dedicated hot water bottle pocket - an inspired and thoughtful addition!

My only bugbear is that it moves around a fair bit, with the nap getting caught against my woolly jumpers. Splitting hairs? Probably....

What I love most about this changing robe is the bold leopard print—it’s a refreshing departure from the usual black and muted neutrals that seem to dominate the outdoor gear market these days. Who says outdoor adventures have to look dull? Not I, and thankfully, not CosiMac either!

A quick squizz at CosiMac's website reveals that that the CosiRobe2 comes in a plethora or patterns and colours so you can be warm and stylish, wherever your adventures take you. Result."
