The Packaway jacket is part  of Craghoppers’ Outdoor Pro collection, which fuses the brand’s Pro Stretch technology with ergonomic design. The main selling point here is the fact that it conveniently packs away into its own stuff sac, which is less than the size of a small loaf of bread, and lightweight to boot (440g).

This makes it ideal for Britain’s fickle climate as you can chuck it in your pack and forget about it until you feel chilly, when you slip it on and warm up instantly.

The Packaway uses insulated Climaplus wadding which is also windproof, hence its ability to keep you warm.

Features are fairly minimal but work well, and include two zipped handwarmer pockets, an adjustable hem, elasticated bound cuffs, full length zip with inner zip guard and a hood with an elasticated bound face.

The hood provided our only very minor issue with the jacket in that it doesn’t have adjustable pull cords, but that’s something we reckon you could live with.

The Packaway feels soft and snug in use and is the kind of garment you’ll forget you’re carrying until you need it, when you’ll be very happy you brought it along.

All in all the Packaway is an excellent and very good value buy. Oh, and it looks pretty good too.
