Good looking, well-designed and well-made soft shell
A bit pricey

Made from rugged Burly Double Weave fabric the Gamma is a versatile soft shell jacket that you can use for everything from skiing to hiking and mountain biking, and it also looks pretty good for everyday wear too.

The jacket's fabric is a mix of 50% nylon, 43% polyester and 7% elastin and has four-way stretch as well as being water repellent and very durable.

Especially nice is the soft, snug micro-fibre lining, whilst the membrane free  softshell fabric is very breathable and easy-to wear - the lightly insulated inner makes the Gamma warmer than you’d expect, and although it’s not as light as some softshell jackets the anatomical shaping means you don’t notice any weight ‘penalty’ at all.

As usual with Arcteryx the Gamma has well thought out features include a helmet compatible hood which adjusts with ease, a soft, high lined collar, drop back and adjustable hem, two zipped outer pockets and an internal pocket.

Essentially this is a versatile soft shell jacket than makes a great outer layer for all but the worst weather conditions, so although quite pricey you do get a lot for your money.
