Have your children ticked off the National Trust’s 50 things To Do Before You’re 11 3/4?

50 things kids

Even though there are only a number of days before the end of the summer holidays, there’s still time for your children to notch up a few more of the National Trust’s outdoor bucket list for kids.

Launched at the beginning of the summer by TV comedian Hugh Dennis – who plays the over-whelmed father in Outnumbered and is a real father himself – the campaign aims to inspire children away from the LCD screens and into the outdoors.

The extensive list, which is available to download and print off as a ticklist, from the National Trust’s dedicated website mostly includes outdoor classics such as den building, snail racing and climbing trees.

But it does include one activity that might appease the kids by combining a little smartphone screen time with exploring and navigation, and that is the more modern ‘GPS treasure hunting’ phenomenon known as geo caching.
