Google has recently updated its mapping and navigation software for Android providing users with estimations of elevation along a route.
The addition is part of an update to version 8.2 which is currently in Beta mode. You're able to preview a range of routes with associated elevation graphs, this helps you to choose the best option based on more than just directness from A-B.
Other features that have been added include:
• Voice actions in navigation mode
• View search results on the map or in a list and easily switch between them
• Search for places you’ve reviewed or saved using the “Your places” filter
• Local activities guide based on location and time of day
• My Location button to get quick info on your current location
Your software should have updated to include the new features by now, if it hasn't you can go to the Google Play store and update from there.
