Although designed primarily for mountain bikers, the Duthie is versatile enough to be used for hiking and snowsports, so if like many people you dabble in all three it's well worth a once over.
You should note though that the '17' is a tad misleading - the actual capacity of the pack is 14-litres (which some may find a bit small, especially for winter use) - the '17' relates to the fact that there's extra capacity in the form of the very well-designed 3-litre Big Zip hydration reservoir, which is also included with the Duthie.
The Big Zip is tucked away in its own zipped compartment, in front of which is the main storage compartment which contains internal storage for stuff like bike pump, tools and food.
There's an additional zipped storage pocket on the outside of this, along with a well-designed, built-in storage system for full-face helmet and body armour, or any extra gear you may be carrying if you're hiking or skiing rather than biking.
The comfy and stable shoulder straps and back panel are designed to assist with airflow to keep you cool, and the waist belt is nicely supportive, comes with two zipped pockets and can be tucked away when not in use.
The Duthie 17 is an excellent pack for mountain bikers looking at long days on the trail; if you happen to be a mountain biker who likes to walk and ski the trails as well you may well find a 'one pack fits all' option here.
