This photo of the lava-scorched slopes of Tenerife’s 3,718m-high Mount Teide in the Canary Islands was taken by London-based advertising and cycling photographer Michael Blann. It’s hard to believe but just a few kilometres from this desolate, barren, volcanic landscape surounding Spain’s highest mountain, are the beach resorts that attract some 5 million tourists a year.
