The sheltered waters of the Menai Strait provide ideal sailing waters for all levels of ability. The Plas Menai, the National Watersports Centre of Wales, offers a week-long introduction to sailing.No previous experience is necessary for this course, which covers basic skills such as rigging, tacking and gybing and allows you to become acquainted with several types of boat, including an eight-metre keelboat. An enjoyable weekend’s beginner course using double-handed dinghies is among the many other courses on offer, all of which are to recognised qualification standards.
