Our favourite bearded adventurer has added a new feather to his cycling cap - by breaking the world record for cycling across the European continent. Sean Conway cycled 4,000 miles from Portugal to Russia in 24 days, 18 hours and 39 minutes.
Travelling unsupported and with as little gear as possible, he slept in a bivvy bag (and the occasional road tunnel) at night. Sean, who has already completed a record-breaking triathlon of Britain, is now waiting for ratification of his record by Guiness, and reckoned the cycle “was the most intense three weeks of my life.” He’s pictured here as he celebrates finishing his ride in Russia, posing triumphantly with one of the locals.
