E-biking may not be the first thing you think of when you're looking for an adrenaline-fuelled day in the mountains but, as Gwilym Pugh found out on his recent trip to the South Tyrol, e-mountain biking in Val Gardena is an experience to remember.
Nestled in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites, this is a paradise for mountain bikers, either with the help of an electric motor or not. You'll find winding singletrack, jumps and bumps, beautiful mountain trails and steep climbs. Not forgetting some outstanding routes over mountain passes and through valleys for road bikers as well.
Take to the trails as the sun goes down for to catch a glimpse of the unforgettable spectacle of ‘Enrosadira’ - the peaks turning red as the light of the setting sun shines on them.
