Based on the premise that it’s good to exercise the mind as well as the body, the Greek destination Costa
Navarino has launched a series of Philosophy Walks for UK visitors.

Working in conjunction with leading UK tour operators Abercrombie and Kent and Chic Locations, the Peloponnese resort is putting together packages from £745 per person, which include Philosophy Walks led by Greek scholars and a visit to Ancient Olympia.

The walks enable guests to discuss important modern-day issues through the prism of ancient Greek philosophical thinking and writings. The introduction to Greek philosophy is held during a leisurely walk taking in the idyllic Messinian countryside, amidst 100-year old olive trees. Walkers will have the chance to take a deeper approach to several matters such as ‘Politics & Philosophy – is There Such a Thing as an Uncorrupted Governor?’, a dilemma posed by Plato thousands of years ago, or ‘Revenge – Moral Values and Justice’.

These and other topics try to shed light on the broader impact of ancient Greek philosophical thought from antiquity to today’s world, with a different topic of discussion most weeks.

Abercrombie and Kent’s weekend package costs from £745 for three nights b&b at the Westin Hotel, Costa Navarino, flights and transfers, while Chic Locations are offering four-night packages from June, costing £1,263.
