The Terra Fi sandals from Teva are a very different proposition to the Universals previously reviewed. They are a pretty weighty sandal but does that weight translate to strength and stability for real world practicality over varied terrain?
First impressions are good, the soles feel chunky enough to take some abuse and the grip offered is decent. The Strap system with hook and loop Velcro closure is similar to that of the Universals but looks and feels more durable and certainly more comfortable thanks to the extra padding.
The foot bed is immediately soft and comfortable with just enough give for the contours of your foot to sink into, combined with a decent amount of arch support. The anti-microbial treatment should help to keep the pungency at bay for a while - always an issue with sandals and flip flops! We opted for the leather finish, these look good enough for casual summer wear but aren't necessarily as practical as the various options available with fabric straps.
To walk in the Terra Fi4 are incredibly comfortable but also feel supportive, they perform well on rough ground so make an ideal sandal for walking trips to warm climates.
They're reasonable value at £70 for the fabric versions and £80 for the leather.
If you're looking for a good walking sandal from a well-known and respected brand then you could do a lot worse than the Terra Fi4.
