Excellent durability for such a lightweight walking boot
If you're not a fan of traditional looks......

Scarpa’s Ranger Activ Lite boots may look like clumpy leather hiking boots, which more often than not are heavy and cumbersome, but actually, they are well-built lightweight ladies hiking boots with a traditional aesthetic.

The Ranger Lite has been a Scarpa best seller for many years. Over those years Scapa has made small tweaks to improve the boots while retaining the ethos. Weight has been reduced by a further 10%, making these only 1170g a pair. And that weight is fantastic considering that these boots are made of high-quality 1.8mm thick leather.

The leather provides ample protection for the foot, is naturally waterproof and and feels and looks lovely. Although leather has an element of natural waterproofing the Scarpa Activ Lite boots have a Gore-Tex lining to ensure that your feet stay bone-dry.

Deep Vibram lugs and a pronounced heel brake ensure fantastic grip across a variety of terrain. These walking boots are mainly made for hill walking, trails, and fells as opposed to mountain walking, this means in our eyes that they're an ideal lightweight 3-season walking boot. They are well cushioned in the midsole and insole, providing ample protection for your feet but still giving decent trail feel. The sole provides a good balance between stability and flexibility keeping you light on your feet.

Scarpa’s classic lacing is really easy to cinch tight over your foot and the gusseted tongue stops water or debris from getting inside your boots. We found the ankle and tongue both sufficiently cushioned, giving you all-day walking comfort. The anatomic shaping of the boot, stitching, and materials used are all very high quality, making for a pair of blister and hot spot free walking boots that fit like a glove.

Durability is without question on these boots thanks to a full wrap rubber rand protecting from scuffs from rocks and an overall excellent level of attention to detail, and build-quality. The sole is usually the first thing to go on walking boots, if you're eco-conscious and don't fancy throwing away perfectly good walking boot uppers the ranger GTX Activ Lite can be re-soled.

Overall, a fantastic pair of lightweight leather hiking boots with a women's specific fit. The Activ Lite boots are comfortable all day long, offer fantastic protection for the feet, and will last and last.
