Although not the best of performers you do get quite a lot of jacket for your money with the Target Dry Horizon. The Ripstop outer shell has fully taped seams and is waterproof, breathable, windproof and relatively light and stowable even though it has a mesh lining.
The jacket is let down somewhat by the stowable mesh-lined hood, however, which is adjustable up to a point but still kind of flops around on your head - sure, it keeps the rain off but it's not very comfortable.
There's a two way contrast front zip which allows some degree of venting, and two zipped hand pockets which Target claims are 'map pockets', although we can only get an OS map in them by folding it over.
There's also a zipped internal pocket which is a reasonable size but again not quite big enough for a map.
The jacket's cuffs are elasticated but the hem has an adjustable drawcord, and the Horizon is comfortable enough in use - as long as you're not using the hood.
It works fine for easy lowland walks but we wouldn't recommend it for anything too demanding in the hills, even though Target Dry market it as a technical jacket. But if you're on a tight budget it does offer good value for money.
