The Light Hiker Socks from Bridgedale are a summer hiking sock with light cushioning underfoot. The blend of Coolmax polyester and combed cotton is a great mix in terms of both comfort and staying cool in warmer weather where Merino wool socks may be too hot an option.

The Coolmax fabric allows air in and moisture out, and many people will opt to use a Coolmax sock as a first layer on longer multi-day hikes in an attempt to wick moisture away from the skin.

In use these socks felt considerably cooler than a lightweight Merino sock when worn with Gore-Tex lined boots which are renowned for not being exceptionally breathable.

The cushioning on the Light Hiker is just enough for day hiking and we have yet to notice any bunching or slipping with ours so blisters should be kept at bay.

These socks are excellent value at just over a tenner so represent a really good buy for summer hiking.
