Griffin's Survivor Slim phone protection case is the electronic accessory manufacturer's pocket-friendly phone protection designed to save from those inevitable knocks and scrapes on your adventurous.
Fitting the case is easy, with the inner press-fit polycarbonate shell sandwiching the phone snugly. On top of that fits a super flexible and shock absorbent silicone outer.
Unfortunately the touch-through protective film screen protector was no easier to apply bubble-free than any other we've tried but once on adds scratch resistance and a surprising amount of impact protection to the most vulnerable part of any phone.
Despite the two-layer construction, there is hardly any excess bulk to the phone, making the phone half a centimetre deeper and wider than without protection.
In (active) use we can attest to the case's unobtrusive impact and abrasion protection (yes, we've dropped it plenty of times). However, you do need to remember that the Survivor Slim leaves both cameras, speakers, the mute switch and the headphone socket without a protective covering, so while this makes them easier to use, they are all vulnerable to grit and water ingress.
Our only other gripe is that although the fantastic gripiness of the silicone cover means the phone won't slip out of your hand, it makes the phone difficult to slide into a pocket one-handed.
