It inflates in no time from a single valve using the Sevylor pump to create a stable and spacious kayak which could even take on white water if you're feeling brave.
The hull is made from strong heavy duty tarpaulin which extends way above the water line, making this a robust kayak but also adding to the overall size and weight.
The seating system is intuitive and easy to set up for one, two or three people, making this a versatile little cruiser. With two adults and a child aboard it feels more stable than it looks, in fact it's virtually impossible to flip over and the raised bow and front spray deck fend off small waves with aplomb. The raised seating means that your bum also stays dry, which is always our preference!
Paddling is a breeze, we use Sevylor collapsible paddles which help when storage space is tight both at home and in the car. The paddles can be clipped to the carry handles when not in use, this saves arguments about dropping them into the water. The removable fin gives the Alameda great manoeuvrability and helps to differentiate it from cheap blow up boats.
Overall this is an accomplished family kayak which is ideal for those situations where space is at a premium either at home or when out on the road and as such it has quickly become one of our favourite family sized adventure accessories.
