Zadar to Nin

This scenic 34km route follows the coastline from Zadar to the historic town of Nin, passing salt pans, sandy beaches, and charming villages on the way. Mostly flat terrain makes this route ideal for all skill levels, so it’s great for families who fancy pedalling to the beach.  

Zadar to Vir Island

Cycle from central Zadar across the Virski bridge to Vir Island, known for its rugged coastline, postcard-worthy sea coves and crystal-clear waters. You’ll pedal on paved roads and off-road trails on this 50km island tour, making this ride the perfect mix of adventure and sightseeing by bike.

Zadar City Tour

Get under the skin of Zadar on a cycling city tour. Join a guide from Zzuum for a laid-back pedal as you see the sights and delve into 3,000 years of history of the UNESCO-listed city, exploring from the beautiful sandy beach of Kolovare to the Roman Forum and the ancient City Walls. You’ll stop at a few hotspots to experience Zadar’s café culture on this three-hour bike tour, too.

Vransko Lake Nature Park

Fancy a wonderful wildlife tour by bike? Head to Vransko Lake Nature Park. This haven for birdlife is home 251 bird species and the largest natural lake in the country. A cycling route rings the entire lake, offering great opportunities to spot wild birds as you pedal. This gravelly off-road route is best suited to mountain bikes.

Pag Island

Keen mountain bikers and road cyclists alike should make a beeline for the rocky, moonlike landscapes of Pag. Surrounded by amazingly turquoise waters, this unique island offers a 60km road tour of the island from Pag Bridge to the village of Lun as well as over 120km of well-marked mountain bike trails for exploring off-piste.

Ugljan & Pašman Islands

Connected by a wide bridge, the islands of Ugljan & Pašman are a cyclists dream destination and only 15 minutes from Zadar by boat. Cycle through olive groves and along their coastlines and check out the incredible views of the far-off Velebit mountain range on an all-day 72km ride.

Paklenica National Park

30 minutes from Zadar city, Paklenica is a sprawling rocky playground for hikers and climbers – but cyclists can get a look in at these soaring limestone cliffs, part of the Velebit mountain massive, too. An 8km bike trail leads from the center of Starigrad to Velika Paklenica, with panels presenting the history of the area from prehistoric times. A great introduction to the national park.

Dugi Otok Coastal Trail

One of Zadar’s most beautiful islands (and that’s saying something), Dugi Otok is home to soaring limestone cliffs, lighthouses, a green interior and secluded beaches, including Sakarun Beach, one of Zadar’s most famous coastal spots. Explore them by pedalling the coastal bike trail that hugs the island.
