By car

Graubünden is easily reached by car. If using Swiss motorways, you will need a vignette (motorway toll sticker) for your vehicle. This costs 40CHF (£28), and can be bought from border posts, Swiss post offices and petrol stations.

Driving time from Calais is approx 9hrs 30mins.

 

By air

Zürich Airport (119km from Chur) is ideally connected to the public transport network for onward journeys to Graubünden. You can also fly to Basel (206km), Friedrichshafen in Germany (124km), and Innsbruck in Austria (216km).  

SWISS is Switzerland’s national airline and has several daily flights to Zürich from London (City and Heathrow), Birmingham, Edinburgh and Manchester.

The Graubünden Express private transfer service operates from most resorts to Friedrichshafen and Zürich airports and from some resorts to Innsbruck.

By rail

It is also possible to travel on Swiss Federal Railways/Schweizerische Bundesbahnen (SBB) trains from different airports. Within Graubünden, transport from Chur is exclusively on the Rhaetian Railway/Rhätische Bahn or on PostAuto buses.

Getting around

GraubündenPASS
With a GraubündenPASS, you can enjoy unlimited travel on public transport.

These are available in two formats: for travel on 2 days out of 7 or on 5 days out of 14. You can choose which region you would like to travel in (1 zone), or buy one ticket to cover the whole of Graubünden (all zones).

Prices range from CHF 67 per adult for 2/7 days in one zone (2nd class) to CHF 240 per adult for 5/14 days, all zones (1st class)
